🚀 What’s New: Separate Asset Categories 🚀

We’ve introduced a dedicated Asset Categories module to make asset classification and depreciation management more organized and efficient.

🔹 What has changed?

Previously, Item Categories were used for both regular items and assets. This meant that the same category list was shared across Item and Asset-related transactions.

With this update, we have introduced a separate Asset Category form and report specifically for managing asset categories.

Each Asset Category can now be mapped with the appropriate Depreciation Ledgers and is identified with Item Type = ASSET.

🔹 Where can you use Asset Categories?

The newly created Asset Categories will be available in:

• Asset Master
• Bulk Asset Item Creation

When creating an asset, these screens will now display only categories created for assets.

🔹 Separate Categories for Items and Assets

We have also improved the existing category setup by clearly separating categories based on their usage:

Asset Categories

• Used exclusively for assets
• Item Type = ASSET
• Available only in Asset-related forms

Item Categories

• Used exclusively for regular items
• Not created for assets
• Available only in Item-related forms

🔹 Improved Category Selection

The category list will now automatically be filtered based on the type of item you are creating:
